Shooting the Ruger SP-101 with full power loads is a rush. The 26 ounce stainless steel frame is compact but the weight serves good purpose in comparison to Scandium-framed S&Ws (which at around 12 will rock your world with much unpleasantness). Approaching the table top of the SP-101 (separate vid) I found I had too much footage to add on to it so why don't we just make a separate vid out of it! Here the Impact Guns Manager at Kearns, Sterling, gives me some assistance in testing the SP-101 at the indoor range. Yardages were from 5 to 15 yards which is about all I'd ever want to shoot this gun at unless emergency dictated otherwise. Sterling's groups tightened as he became use to the recoil of the .357 loads (one forgets if not constantly training with it) and in the end he bested me with an outstanding head and center of mass group that was mind blowing. He also cranked off a hilarious rapid fire five that cracked me up (and MOST connected). This little SP-101 shot well and fast here and we continued our tests in the dark and cold deserts in other days (other vid to be shown in the tabletop review). The Ruger SP-101 is a great gun for concealed carry if you want something bigger than a .38, home defense, or just to keep in the car.
